If you are a regular reader; you’ll know that I have been finding it hard to acquire work here in the United States for some unknown reason, but on Tuesday I signed a contract to take care of a local apartment community’s Internet presence. It’s only worth $300 a month but that’s a start and hopefully I can grow my Internet business from here. I am confident that I can do a good job which will hopefully turn into expanded contracts with the property management company. Best of all I can work from home, so I don’t have any overheads such as transport and babysitting costs.

Property management companies and apartment complexes get a large percentage of new tenants through the internet, most people search the internet for just about everything these days and finding somewhere to live is no exception, having your information out there on the Internet is crucial in today’s world!
So you are sort of doing some work for a letting agency? I completely understand how valuable and important an internet presence is for these sorts of companies and for property management.
I guess I don’t quite understand what an apartment community is.
Is it basically a community of people who live in several blocks of flats / apartments in an area? Do they themselves, the residents actually need to source new tenants for empty flats / apartments? If so that concept is rather alien to me.
Unless the residents are actually looking for lodgers to live in a spare room within their flat / apartment to share the cost of living.

A apartment community is run by a management company, they let out apartments to anyone who wants one, assuming they pass background checks and have the money to pay deposit/rent etc. Think of it as Plymouth City Council just on a smaller scale, usually apartment communities have about 150 – 200 units which they rent out like the council would rent out flats back home in the UK. A management company will usually have a handful of properties around the state(s).
