Now we have a tax return refund, we are going to pay off an ‘overpayment’ from the Social Security Administration for our son’s SSI benefits. When I started working, we knew that the SSI benefits for our autistic son would stop, which is more than fine as were infinitely better off. But they claim that we were overpaid despite reporting every cent of our income; it’s their screw-up; yet we get to suffer. We asked for the appeal paperwork, but instead they sent us another demand for $581.98 and now the appeal period has expired. So we will pay up with a side-note saying FUCK YOU!
