It seems that the proposed changes to the qualifying session(s) in Formula One have been scrapped despite all teams agreeing to the new 2 x 25 minute free for all sessions, which I think would be a lot more excited and less predictable than the current single lap qualifying format, which it seems we will be stuck with until at least the end of the season. Also in F1, Max Moseley has demanded that teams reduce speeds or be forced to reduce speeds after Ralf Schumacher hit the wall at high speed at Indianapolis. Personally I think is this a pointless exercise and will spoil the spectacle of Formula One, if anything Ralf Schumacher’s accident showed that F1 cars are incredibly strong and the safety precautions are highly effective, considering that Ralf got away with only minor injuries, despite him being expected to sit out the French GP.
