Well, its day 4 of Tomas’ visit to the UK, and it was yet another pub dominated day, firstly taking a trip down to Looe, and stopped in a local pub to sample the Doom cask ale, then stopped off in Torpoint for another pint, not much of a choice of ales, so we settled on John Smiths, which set the pattern for the night, before taking the car ferry across the river and back home. From there we made our way to the Phoenix to listen to some live music and have a couple more drinks. My first drink was my usual Fosters, which actually made me feel quite sick, so stuck to John Smiths for the rest of the night. The Phoenix phase of the night ended with an impromptu jam session with me attempting to play drums and Tomas on electric guitar and we sucked pretty majorly, but it was an interesting experience. After that we moved onto the Voodoo Lounge and drank some more John Smiths, and had all manor of bizarre conversation, but annoyingly I started to feel incredibly ill at 1:30am, so went home to sleep it off, seems that the Fosters I drank earlier disagreed with the ales that was already in my belly. Today has been a slow day to say the least, only venturing into town for a short while for get some films developed, and get some more cash. But tonight should be interesting, as Tomas will be doing a guest review for Phoenix Live, and he is even more harsh than me when a band plays badly, so I shall look forward to the review and the ensuing comments that are bound to be posted!
